SquashBusters was the first youth enrichment program of its kind – combining squash, academics, and community service.
SquashBusters
students can choose from a wide variety of summer options. In the summer
of 2003, upon the opening of the new facility, SquashBusters offered three
weeks of intensive day squash programs to current team members. In the
summer of 2006, SquashBusters students could attend two weeks of summer
camp, while four other weeks were devoted to bringing squash to other
Boston Public School students. Several SquashBusters students also worked
as camp counselors for these four weeks.
In addition to our own summer camp, each year SquashBusters can apply to attend a camp outside of Boston through a scholarship generously provided by the following camps:
Talbott Squash Academy, Newport, RI
Above the Tin, Hartford, CT
Princeton University Squash Camp, Princeton, NJ
Harvard Complete Squash, Boston, MA
Precision Squash, Boston, MA
Holleran Squash Camp for Girls, Concord, NH
Concord-Acton Squash Camp, Concord, MA
Dartmouth Squash Camp, Hanover, NH
Program staff also assist students in finding other activities tailored to their interests. In the summer of 2006, students traveled to South Africa with Summer Search, participated in writing camp, and attended the Crimson Academy at Harvard University.
